Foraminal Stenosis

Condition Description
Foraminal stenosis is narrowing of the foramen. The foramen are the tunnels where the nerves exit the spine. When they narrow, it is called stenosis.
Various things can cause this narrowing. From a herniated disc, to bone spurs, thickening of the ligament, or facet cysts. Whatever the cause is, it can cause the nerves to be pinched where they exit the tunnel. And this leads to pain, numbness, tingling, weakness. All of these symptoms can be treated at the 360 Ortho and Spine.
If you have this condition, and you fail to improve with conservative treatment, such as medications, injections, physical therapy, chiropractor, then surgery may be indicated. There are various treatments for foraminal stenosis. The area that’s pinched can be treated by coming from the side of the foramen, or by coming from the spine inside out. It all depends where the stenosis is. Thus, it can be treated with various different types of minimally invasive techniques that we have here at 360 Ortho and Spine.
